Albanian authorities announced on Thursday that they intend to block the TikTok application in the country in the coming days.
This decision was made after the Albanian prosecutor began investigating the use of TikTok for child pornography and other inappropriate content.
The Minister of Telecommunications stated that the TikTok ban carries symbolic significance and is intended to show that Albania is seriously related to the implementation of control over the digital space and the protection of children's interests.
"We take responsibility for protecting our children and adolescents from harmful content in the network. We must guarantee the safety of our digital space," the minister emphasized.
